Small Moments of Joy

I can't help it. I just have to talk about the amazing rehearsal we had today. It was Falstaff for 4 hours. 4 hours. It was so much fun! There's nothing better than preparing an opera, even if it's only a scene. It's everything I love: amazing music, singing, acting, characters, plot, intrigue, subtext, community, work, fun, laughter, angst... There's nothing like it!

And it's so great to have a collection of amazing people to work with. I can't get over how lucky I am. Working with these people, my friends, is something that cannot be explained. The emotion can only be described as joy: that deep, bubbling life that cannot be contained or completely understood.

Joy: doing this forever.
